Glacier skiing is a form of skiing on glaciers, offered for both cross country and downhill skiers. This type of skiing is popular with people looking to extend there time on the slopes as the glacier ski seasons tends to be longer than the typical ski season. Whilst some glaciers only open during the winter season, the majority of glaciers are open all year round. Skiers can glacier ski in North America although Europe offers the most options with glaciers in Italy, France, Austria and Switzerland.
